Poster "Lake Carezza" 35x50cm

The spectacular appearance of the lake has always generated admiration and wonder. Many South Tyrolean legends gather around it and numerous writers and poets have made it the inspiration for their paintings and stories. Its characteristics derive from the legend of the beautiful Ondina, a nymph who inhabited its waters. The Latemar sorcerer fell in love with her and tried several times to kidnap her. One day, advised by the Stria del Masarè , he caused a beautiful rainbow to appear above Lake Carezza in order to attract the nymph. When the latter came out of the waters she saw the sorcerer and fled scared. Then the magician, seized with great fury, took the rainbow and threw it into a thousand pieces in the lake. Since that day all the colors of the rainbow have been reflected in the waters of Lake Carezza. A bronze statue depicting Ondina was placed in the lake.
